In 1965 the Gold's Gym legend began at a small store front location in Venice, California where Joe Gold opened the original Gold's Gym which is simply known as „The Mecca“ and still is in operation.

Anyone and everyone who was serious about fitness came from around the world to train at Gold's Gym and with the release of the 1977 picture, Pumping Iron, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno, Gold's Gym quickly became the „most famous gym in the world“.

Gold's gym expands all over the world

The company was founded on Gold's philosophy of commitment, passion and dedication to fitness and its customers' well-being. Gold focused on providing personalized fitness programs to help everyone from mothers and marathon runners to bodybuilders and movie stars achieve their fitness goals.
